Let's see. We got a society portraying the man as a rochard caretaker for the family. He's upposed to be strong at all times, and crying or even showing ANY form of emotion is a weakness. So he lives up to that, and refuses to show emotions. Basically he's dodging your questions, because he've been confromed by society to not talk about his feelings, nor show them.
Just a (very likely) posibility.
So congratulations, you're experiencin why society's expectations is fucking up the love life.
Now, i got a few simple qustions to you. How do you respond when he does something wrong? When he opens up (if he have), even just slghtly? When you open up and he tries to help?
Your reactions to said situations can determine if he's in fact worried about how you will respond if he choses to open up. A lot of guys are worried their partner will just ignore them or basically tell them to "man up and don't be a whimp".

Maybe he's unable to open up to anyone... maybe there's a block that he has no control over or answer for but after five years, maybe the problem isn't his. You knew he was like this from the start and you still fell for him and he fell for you. As long as he loves you and treats you with respect, does it matter if he's still laid back and quiet?
Maybe because all there attention is between there legs, if you see men thinking about what between there legs more then communication

All the problems I have faced and overcome have been done so alone, there was no one there for me, no one I can talk to, no one I could depend on, I had to struggle on through, so I don't need to express my thoughts, explain how I feel or share my burdens because I know I can deal with these things on my own because it's all I have ever known, so if a woman comes along and things that I am going to change a habit of a life time then she's being delusional and if she doesn't like it, she's free to leave me for someone who will give them a running commentary on their inner most thoughts and fears.
It's cultural.
