Personally, I would rather be called "beautiful" than "hot" any day of the week.
In my opinion, "hot" is simply referring to a woman's body and her sexual attractiveness. However, "beautiful" is referring to a woman's facial attractiveness as well as her overall demeanor. And that, to me, is far more important.
Think of it this way, hot makes him think of sex. Beautiful makes him call you back. It's an over simplification but a man may find many women hot but not as many beautiful. If he calls you beautiful, then you've done more than make his dick stand up. But of course both are attractive.

Beautiful equals good personality, long term qualities. I'd rather be beautiful than a hot bimbo with nothing else to offer.
Beautiful is like love, and hot is lust. Also, I think that beautiful is a way to describe someone as a whole; personality and body, and hot is purely body.
