He showed me telltale signs that he liked me, yet he rejected me?

So, there is this guy in my class (I'm 16) that I've had a crush on for a long time now.. We've known each other for 7 months now (?). And he is such a nice guy, but my problem seems to be that he showed all sorts of signs of liking me.. First of, he always stares at me in class, and when I say always, I mean ALWAYS! Each time I look behind (I sit in the front row and he sits in the back row) I can see him staring at me. And to top it all, he won't break eyecontact ( i'm usually the one to do so, since i shy out.) besides, when he stares, his upper body is directed to me or where I am standing in the room. He also gives me more attention when talking in groups and he constantly teases me to a point where it actually hurts as well, but he often apologizes later on. He also tries to find subtle ways to touch me i. e
gives me high fives for no apperant reason. Oh and maybe a month or two ago, we were at this theatre with our class and we were all dressed formally.. We actually matched (relax, it's relevant) and I ended up sitting in front of him during the play, and he would constantly lean towards me to the point where i felt his breath on my neck and even caress my back (don't judge!) and I took all this as signs. And according to a lot of websites, these are all legit signs for a guy liking you, yet he rejected me (actually quite nicely) on Facebook (I am slightly shy when it comes to boys AND this is all new..) a couple of days ago.. it stinged, but I'm okay.. the only thing that really bothers me now is why he would lead me on like that? My friends think I'm deluded, but they only work with the info I give (they all go to different schools).. The only reason I confessed my feelings in the first place, were because I was "sure" his feelings were mutual..

Since we have a winter break I'll uptade you when school starts.. We snap (snap chat) a little and seem to "talk" as usual.. I was very awkward around him and would often stay quite something does not match my personality at all! I'm very loud and he knows that as well, but I'm all quite around him.

You did the right thing, you confessed. Maybe he actually just liked you as a very good friend, but it's possible to that he's afraid of starting something more serious with you. Well, for now, I think you should respect his decision. Think that at least you did something, it went wrong, but you did and this was right.

Thanks, well I'm glad I'm done.. I relay didn't want to evolve to some type of addiction, so I asked him although it wasn't face to face as I wished, but I will not dwell anymore, that's for sure! As said above, the fact that I was led on by him is the only thing still bothering me :/

Teenage boys are like that. Don't take it personally at all. Maybe he hasn't realised it himself if he likes you or not. Since you confessed, give it a bit of time and see how he acts around you. If he continues to give you 'signs' then he probably does like you but he hasn't convinced himself yet.

Thanks, I don't know, but I do know that I will act normal around him, as if nothing happened. I will update this when if something happens or if this is just all in my head. Haha! :)

Hahaha, that's true, but do consider the fact that I'm neew to this "game" and have absolutely no knowledge of boys.. So signs naturally became my bestfriend (slightly melodramatic here) But I hear what you're saying.. And I'm pretty sure I'll be a heartless bitch to the next guy that gives me signs... Just kidding! Hahaha

Maybe he wanted to be the pursuer. Some guys have issues with girls asking them out or hitting on them and want to be the person who does the asking / hitting on. My friend made the mistake of asking out one of my friends and he told me he avoids girls who ask him out.

He has a lot of girl friends and is quite flirtatious with many girls, but he kind of payed more attention to me.. I am not deluded. I didn't just jump to that conclusion, it's just.. I do analyze his behavior with others and me and I can tell it completely different, but than again.. He rejected me, I'm getting over it. The only thing still bothering me is the fact that I was led on like that. :/

sorry if It came out that I thought it was all in your head, I've been there too haha :) yeah I think maybe he panicked and declined you and really just wasn't ready for the relationship. he probably regrets showing that many signs towards you to be honest, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's more confused than you are haha :) some boys just don't know what they want I guess, hope this helped you a little :)
