Does it mean anything if a guy says you have a beautiful name upon introducing yourself to him?

I was named after a mythological greek goddess ( thank you mom and dad) so my name is quite unique. The other day I was assigned a project and this guy in my group asked for my name and When I told him my name, he asked for the meaning of ot and said I had a beautiful name. I mean, I am used to being asked about the meaning of my name but no one ever complimented me on my name after just meeting me... Was he trying to flatter me?

Maybe - he may have just genuinely liked your name or it may have been to compliment you as he likes you (on first impressions). I have had people say my name is nice when they first meet me. I just say thank you but dont really read anything into it.

I too have an extremely unique Christian name, and have constantly been complimented on having such a lovely unusual name.. Upon explaining how I came by having it given to me, it has always been such a huge ice breaker in the way of conversation.
