I asked him out, he said yes and now he ignores me. why?

Please help me understand his behavior...
I like my colleague and I though he liked me too, always smiling, always nice to me etc.
So I asked him out on Saturday and he said yes, we can meet, but we didn't make any clear plans.
Then, all week at work he completely ignored me. Today I went straight to him and asked if he wanted to go out tonight. He said he was busy. I asked if he was free tomorrow. He said no. So I said "if you don't want to go out with me, it's ok, just tell me" and he said "I really am busy".

Why do you think he is acting like this? What should I do about it?

To me it sounds like he said yes because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. Unless he really is busy with things, but I doubt that. If you get the chance try and ask him exactly what he is busy with. If he really is as busy as he says then he should be able to easily say what he has to do and if he kind of hesitates or makes up some weird reasons then I think you should get the picture by then.

after saying yes, he asked ''any plans for tomorrow?"and while we were talking about tomorrow, he said - in fact i'm going to play football with the boys tomorrow.

about tonight he didn't say anything in particular, he just said no. tomorrow he said he was going out of town.

Ok, so it sounds like he hasn't been putting it off for a while like I originally thought so I think you should be good. Although if he puts it off for about 2 or more weeks then you should start getting suspicious. It is pretty common to accept doing something the next day but only to remember that you had a prior engagement before, happens to me all the time
