Why do guys stare at a girl but keep looking even when she catches him?

Question

This is one of the confusing things guys do. You find a girl attractive, you stare at her, she catches you staring/looking (her eyes meet yours), she's waiting for you to look away, but no. Nothing. You keep staring until she gives up and turns away first. 
Is it cause you can't snap out of it? Or are you staring at her and thinking about something that you don't realise she's staring back?

Yes, some guys turn away the instant they're caught, but others dont.
It's weird. 🤔

Well, when a guy stares at a girl (assuming he is checking her out actually and not just zoning out or distracted by what her t shirt says or something like that)... I imagine there are a few things that would explain why...

IF THE GUY CONTINUES TO STARE (and he is checking her out)... He is most likely thinking something along the lines of "if I stare at her long enough, she'll know that I like her or am interested in her. If she returns the stare positively (with a smile or something), maybe I can approach her and go from there."
The problem is that the girl may be weirded out and trying to ignore the guy as the guy keeps waiting for a positive reaction. He doesn't realize that he is actually creeping out the girl in the process.

Another possibility is that he just doesn't register that the girl caught him. Kind of like to where they are too busy staring lol. Either that, or he just doesn't care and just wants to keep on checking the girl out (kind of like some weird way of trying to display their confidence).

However, sometimes a guy can be just really mesmerized by a girl where they keep on staring... kind of like going "ooh shiny light. It's so prettttyyy *stare, moves a little closer* even though the light is blinding you. That probably made no sense. Well, I tried haha

If the guy turns away when they are caught checking a girl out, chances are they are more shy, and are probably not going to approach outright in the first place.

The best advice that I can give you is.

1. Most guys find a woman attractive for they body or looks and others looks for both body and looks because some men also want a woman who has a nice body nice curves but other men like women who have a nice personality and have good respect or a great sense of humor.

2. A lot of women in the world always say that men are always the same but we're not we're always different In our own way and our own thinking.

3. Some guys grow up with good parents other guys grow up with those type of parents that let their kids do whatever they want and then they grew up being disrespectful to women or abusing women.

Girls do that too. I only stare at girls because they stare at me. Some girls have stared at me and I can see they are staring out the corner of my eye. I turn and look and then we just sit there and lock eyes. I won't move my eyes until she does. I don't know why I do that.

In my opinion, guys don't or can't look away because they want to be friends with you, want to start a conversation with you, or they have feelings for you. This doesn't mean they are stupid or disabled, just paralyzed with awe. Keep in mind this might not be good. It's the kind of awe. It can be," wow, she's hot" to "oh my god, that girl is so ugly" but don't worry about it. If it was the ugly, they would say "EEWWWWW"

Are you saying it's weird if they keep looking or if they look away? I'm of the group that looks away. Hell even if I catch a girl looking at me I immediately look away.
