Why does a guy keep staring at a girl?

It might seem as a really stupid question, but lately with my friends we've noticed that this or that guy keeps looking at us (not only one day). And we were just wondering... Why?
Do they think we're pretty? Or interested in us?

My god, she is beautiful. I wish I had the balls to approach her, but I don't know what I can say to her. I don't have any good opening lines, and even if I did I wouldn't know how to continue the conversation. Even if I did, she would probably get bored with me very soon and I wouldn't even be able to get her phone number. And I probably couldn't even figure out a good way to keep her interested in me long enough through text. Oh if only she would approach me instead...

Just even that would be a disaster. Game over.

A major disaster. And if I were to see her looking at me after that would just be to "add insult to injury", so to speak. I would try to avoid all places where I knew she would probably be for the next weeks after I've overheard her friends telling her "That prick over there has been ogling you like crazy. He's probably a scumbag who has bad intentions. I'm gonna have my feminists friends beat him up after school."

But then again, I'm extremely introverted and don't dare to approach girls, but amazingly that has happened to me; albeit never girls I've been looking at for many, many days in a row.

If you were to see me looking at you over a period of many days, and you would often see me in your direct eye line (I'm very shy, as I've said, but I often position myself so that the girl I really like will have direct eye visual to me); it's a good thing.

If she were to look back at me I would automatically think she's judging me, and not in any good way.

I'm just the kind of guy that... well, isn't very optimistic when it comes to girls. We can rarely do anything or say anything without being labelled creeps. And it's very easy for us guys to get that label, and extremely hard to get it off us.

In this day and age you can hardly walk past a girl without being labelled a sex criminal. Just google "Mark Pearson"; which is why I just don't approach girls even though I know some of the signals. I much prefer if you girls approach me.

I try to make eye contact with those I'm attracted to. Interestingly as an ugly guy these women aren't disgusted by it. Some even look back for awhile when I've already lost interest. Like one girl in my class I found her attractive and she always looks at me after making eye contact a couple times. I just can't help but make eye contact.

I have talk to her. She's hard to keep a friendly conversation with. Last time I was in a group with her for class, she even butted into a conversation I was having with another person. She just seems too shy.

Its a connection forming and 80% of the time they like that person. When you take in the beauty of something your learning to appreciate and care for that thing and you want it to be yours so you never forget the same feeling you had the first time and the same applies to when we stare at girls or worst case scenario she's doing something very weird
