The term 'thick' has can have several meaning. Sometimes calling someone "thick" has to do with how intelligent they are perceived to be, as in 'thick in the head'. That may not be what was intended, but that is just another way the term is used. In that sense, he may have been implying that he did not think she was all that intelligent, as in hard to 'get things through her head' ...Just another way the word is used.

Well considering what is called "thin" these days, "thick" is the same thing as "healthy" or "normal".
To be absolutely clear here, a thick girl is a girl who has a bit of meat on her bones, maybe she's even a little chubby but no rolls or anything. She still easily maintains that attractive female shapeliness without courting death from starvation.
Thick usually means either one of two things.
One: she is a heavy girl. Thicker set, with large limbs.
Two: she is not very bright. Thick in the head, doesn't understand peoples meaning. Needs simple things explained.
Thick is usually never a compliment.
One other alternative could be that your friends have an inside joke which references the term thick. In that case, it could really mean anything.
thick can mean a girl has hips. not fat she just has nice hips and or butt, legs. or it could mean a girl who is muscular.
