Why did my boyfriend send me a picture of himself crying?

I told my boyfriend, candidly, that I was thinking about breaking up with him. He placed me on the backburner for his ex, and it really disappointed me. I couldn't trust him after that, and I decided to tell him that I was thinking about leaving him, because I didn't want to be in the relationship.

He sent me a video of himself crying.

Like why the fuck-? I'm freaked out. How am I supposed to react to that? Why the hell did he send me a video of himself crying?

It could be that he's trying to manipulate you. I had a similar experience a girl I was talking to in a long distance thing. She wasn't my girfriend but we were quite close at least for a while we talked everyday for hours, in the beginning basically 24/7 after a bit less. It was good for about 10 weeks I started to like her more over time but she didn't feel the same, she wrote less and then one time said something quite disrespectful and hurtful praising another guy and I got very pissed and was about to end it. I sort of waited a bit because I didn't want to make a rash decision and she sent me a recording of her crying and saying she doesn't know what she'll do without me etc. Begging me. But nothing changed afterwards and it still ended after a while. I think he's just trying to use emotion to get you to forgive him and manipulate you like this. I can't be 100% sure but that's what it sounds like for me. You shouldn't let this influence you. Decide based on his actions before what you want to do and don't let this affect your decision. It's just short term regret but in the long term he'l be the same person as before.

He's trying to get sympathy from you it is manipulative and you should react with irritation. If you feel like you should to break up with him, then do it if you want to stay with them stay with them but just know that he is trying to gain your sympathy to stay with him. he probably really loves you I don't know the full situation if he cheated or not but if he hasn't cheated and has just left you on the back burner you should express this to him it could save your relationship or it could end it but don't do something you might regret.

I think he wanted to show you how hurt he is, without the fear of the confrontation with you. Maybe he realized what he is going to be losing. Also could be that he thinks its pretty much over, since in my opinion usually at this point with a girl, she has made up her mind that it is over, and the boyfriend can sense that. So now he realizes he made a huge mistake and feels really sad and lonely and fucked up for what he did.
