Kiss under the mistletoe?

So we were in a Christmas party, and one guy was pushing me to be under the mistletoe with him. I like him, I like having him around. But I am not sure if I like him like that. Part of me wanted to, but I shyed away. Specially since I never kissed a guy before. I thought that maybe, he just wanted to drag me under the mistletoe because he was in the moment?

Because before my friends and his friends were trying to carry each other. And he carried me and took me over a nearby seat. Then he insited in carrying me in his back. Then he wanted to dance with me. So I don't know maybe he was just in the moment and fooling around like everyone else.

Like I said... I like him, I like having him around. But I'm shy and I get nervous when he is near and tried to talk to me. I dont know if is right for me to flirt with him even if I'm not sure if I like him, like him. Like i wouldn't want to finally 'realize' I like him when is too late. Cuz why would an outgoing guy like a shy/quiet girl.

Never dated anyone before and I don't get crushes a lot. So sorry if this sounds weird for me ask.

The name for mistletoe derives the fact that mistletoe tends to spring from bird droppings that have fallen on trees, with the seeds having passed through the digestive tract of the birds. The mistletoe has been considered a prized plant throughout history going all the way back to the Ancient Greeks, Celts, the Babylonians, and Scandinavians. The Ancient Greeks considered the plant an aphrodisiac; believed it aided in fertility; and could be used to achieve eternal life. According to Ancient Babylonian legend, they had the closest thing to current tradition of kissing under the mistletoe. At that time, single women looking for a mate supposedly would stand outside of the temple of the goddess of love. Mistletoe was hung over the entrance to the temple and when a potential suitor would approach one of the ladies, they were supposed to bond with him. They did not kiss, however, as kissing wasn’t a way to show affection at that time in the Babylonian empire. Mistletoe became associated with Christmas from tradition of hanging mistletoe in one’s home to bring good luck and peace to those within the house. By the 18th century in Britain, this evolved into the kissing tradition we have today. At this time, it became popular to create a ball of mistletoe that would be hung as a Christmas decoration. If a couple was found standing under the mistletoe, they were then obliged to kiss if the mistletoe ball still had berries. For each kiss, one berry would be taken from the ball. Once all the berries were gone, all the “luck” in love and marriage was considered to be drained out of the mistletoe and it was now considered bad luck to kiss beneath it, instead of good luck as before.

it's not hon, don't apologize! It sounds like you are somewhat into him romantically, but you might not be too. and don't beat yourself up! He could have totally been into you for a long after time. plus, sometimes guys like shy girls bro. that's not important, but don't you dare let the lovely way you are hinder your love life. anyway, I would dwell on your feelings about him, imagine the two of you dating and doing cute couple things. how do these thoughts make you feel? another thing I do when my thoughts get jumbled is I write them down. We meet like 3 weeks ago, this event happened a week after it. And I just recently talk to him so I'm still unsure if I'm 100% like him. Like I'm to nervous still to open up.

An excuse to kiss you in a place where it could easily be dismissed as just fun if you don't feel the same way. He definitely likes you, but you shouldn't do this if you don't want to. If your not sure then don't risk confusing him.

Yea that's what I was thinking too. I recently talk to him, and so far I like him and I like being around him. But I don't know if I like him like that yet. That's why I shy away from it, cuz I wouldn't want to lead him on and hurt him

no no just let him know what you were feeling. He might be wondering why you kept backing away. If I was in that situation, I probably would be wondering the underlying reason, maybe I had disrespected her, or maybe I was too bold. When you let him answer that question himself, there's a chance he could have gotten a different conclusion then what you wanted him to have, so make sure he has the conclusion you want him to have.

You could also get some mistletoe and drag him under it :)

Lol this happened like 2 weeks ago. I don't see him until next semester. I don't know, because I just recently talk to him so I don't know if I should tell him that.

Like I did let him carry me and I was mostly hang out by his side, if I wasn't with my friends. Is just after he wanted to drag me under it, I backed away from that and when he wanted to dance. But yea... After that I shy away when he is near.

I ask this because is been on my mind and bothering me. I wouldn't want to come back for the next semester and act weird to each other
