Why does my guy best friend want to cuddle and kiss me?

A few days ago my guy best friend and I were supposed to hang out, when I got my period. I was cramping really bad and told him I'd make it up to him. We went to the mall yesterday and he said if I ever needed to cuddle he'd be willing. I thought it was a joke and I asked him if he'd be okay with period cuddles and he said he'd be fine with that as long as we can cuddle when I'm not on my period sometimes. I didn't see a problem with it, so I agreed. Then he said, when I am on my period, he'd like to rub my sides when we cuddle... and kiss me, as long as I am okay with that. I was kinda taken back when he said that (I'm probably going to say no) but I told him I needed to think about it...

What I am actually thinking about is why the heck he wants to cuddle and kiss me...

He most likely wants to be more then just friends. a lot of very close friends fall in love and get married. But it seams your not wanting to be more then friends. If your not wantinf to be together maybe you can find him a good girlfriend.
