We've been dating and living together now for almost 7 months. Everything is perfect Sept; we have completely different tastes in music.
I love metal, metal trash, old & new metal(bands like Emmure, The Acacia Strain, White Chapel, Winds Of Plague). I love it, it makes me feel empowered and like I could just jump out of my skin and when I go to a show nothing in the world could bother me or matter but that moment of feeling free of everything.
He listens to a lot of old stuff like Alice Donut, Fank Zappa, Butthole Suffers, Slayer(which is fine), and Bob Dylan.
I don't mind listening to his music, but sometimes it will annoy me. I hate that I feel that way, I really do. I'm really open to what he listens to and I try to like it. I still keep kinda annoyed with it though. I don't think those artist are bad in any way, there just not my type of music. I'm hoping this won't have any effect on our relationship; cause I really do love him.
Music is a big deal to me though, and I guess that's why I'm kinda worried. It would be stupid though if something like that ended a relationship. It actually makes me feel really sad to even think about that.
The only music that we both listen to oddly is Lady Gaga.
I know that he is open to what I listen to and he wants me to put some of my music on his Ipod for the car rides; but still at the same time I don't want him to get a headache from what I listen to. It know it would be hard for some who listens to Bob Dylan to listen to The Acacia Strain. lol.
Is anyone in the same situation or has been?

Just so anyone who cares know, turns out I've learned to like a lot of the music my boyfriend is into and he has come to enjoy my music as well. We've been together for almost 3 years since I've posted this question. XD

This relationship actually came to an end sadly and not because of music taste. It was mutual though. We're still good friends. :)
