I lied about my age!

I've been with this really wonderful guy for almost 2 years, he's 30 and I'm 19 and we met online and back then I was 17 (we met in January 6 months before my 18th birthday and we started dating March 3rd) we live together now. And I feel really awful about lying and I just wanna know how to tell him, I don't wanna lose him. And I know lying to him about that was not smart at all and a good way for him to not trust me. can someone give me some advice on what to do, please?

WHOOPS! Sorry I didn't make it clear I was 17 when we met, I told him I was 18, I turned 18 six months later. I didn't say I was several years older, just 6 months older than I actually was.

i mean I understand why you would tell him your a little older if there's a 11 year age diffrence and you were 17 at the time...but if you have been with him for 2 years and live with him and you haven't told him yet that you lied that's not a good thing..2 years is all long time to have been able to tell him oh by the way before I meet you I kinda lied about my age..but I think you should tell him,and plus I don't think he would be that upset (but its hard to say cause all men are diffrent)

p.s what about on your birthday and stuff does he think your turning a year older then you really are? and what about your friends or family have they never mentioned to him that your a year younger then he thinks?

yes, they have mentioned it, so I think he MIGHT know, but I'm not completely sure because he's never brought it up.

If you said you were 18 rather than 17 I'd just go ahead and tell him which no matter what you said you should have told him ages ago. The longer you lie the harder it is to gain that persons trust back. You have to be honest with him and hope like hell he's forgiving and understanding.

Please help me! I'm desperate, I did the same thing you did. I told my boyfriend I was 6 months older than I was, he's 21 and i'm 17 turning 18 in August. He thinks I'm already 18 and he's trying to get an apartment with me and move to California! My parents are supportive but I can't get an apartment with being 17. Please help me! I know this sounds stupid, but if I tell him I'm not 18 I think I would lose him. His whole family thinks I'm 18 and I feel like Im trapped in this web of lies that I don't know how to get out of! Please give me advice, not just "tell him the truth."

So how old did you tell him you were? like did you tell him you were 25 or did you just tell him you were 18 when you were 17?

Depends on what you lied...If you said twenty-something, I'd be worried...If you only added a couple of years to your real age, you should be OK. You shouldn't have lied, he could have got in legal trouble over you lying to him.

That's not too bad then...so when you had your birthday, did he think you were turning a year older than you actually are?
