He says the "timing" isn't right for him it's a lie, right?

Last night, the guy I've been dating for a couple months and I called it quits. He's been trying to avoid me the last couple weeks and OK lol I'm not stupid, I figured something was up. also he wasn't being as attentive as he had been. Anyway, clearly if I hadn't orchestrated the 30 min break up meeting, he would have continued to be passive-aggressive and avoid me instead of addressing the situation (LAME, if you ask me...) anyway, I was super nice about the situation (though I did have some choice things I wanted to say, I refrained from doing so since we have a TON of mutual friends) and since he had been the one who had pursued me hardcore I wanted to know the reason for why this was headed towards the dumpster. he says that he got out of his last serious relationship (which was a good one, with a friendly mutual breakup) and the "timing" wasn't right for him, as he didn't really want or see us going anywhere at this time. I know he was just trying to be nice and he denies that it had anything to do with me, or that it was because he just stopped liking me. That's a huge bunch of bull, right? lol I mean if guys really really like the girl, the timing is always right, right? or am I just applying huge gneralizations to different scenarios. either way, I'd just like some feedback! frankly I'm just amazed every time a guy decides that avoiding the situation is a decent solution to the problem...it's so pathetic and childish. glad to be done with this!

thanks in advnace!
