What does "I'll see you around" mean?

Anonymous
I met up with this guy who I previously went on a few dates with earlier in the year (we work in the same building). It had been a bit awkward running into each other (sporadically) since, so we met up (at my request) to just clear the air. We seemed to have a really nice time and it was very comfortable and fun (although we did discuss a couple of more serious things), and he offered me a lift home afterward. When it came to say goodbye, I said 'it was nice to see you", he indicated for me to hug me (which I did) and said "I'll see you around"... I know he's not interested in anything, but should I take that as "I'll see you if I bump into you", or "it would be nice to see you at some point", or "please don't contact me again"? I don't want to contact him if he's actually thinking, 'wow, I wish she'd go away'...
