How to Cope With Androphobia (Fear of Men)

I think I may have Androphobia (fear of men). I have always been nervous around men & find it very difficult to talk to them. I have never had a boyfriend & the idea of having one terrifies me. It is not that I don't like men, I am just afraid of them. I have had some negative experiences with men, but nothing that would make me have such a strong phobia. I have always been shy, but men just really intimidate me. Does anyone have any suggestions or stories to share?

Um... I believe I also have androphobia I mean, I've had bad experiences as well with men and whenever I see a male that kind of reminds me of my past situations I get really nervous, I can't be around them, and sometimes I start shaking. What I'm doing to solve the problem though is exposing myself to boys that make me feel really uncomfortable (not alone of course) I feel face to face confrontations are better than social networks or anything like that. Just let a friend introduce you to a nice guy and try to be friends, get to know him well and try to make him seem human lol. Just remember you're not alone and you're not weird for feeling this way :)

Pffft men are not scary

I grew up in a house full of guys so maybe my situation is diff than yours but seriously males are not scary, women are hehe

Agreed. I have Venustraphobia. Women are scary as hell. There's absolutely nothing scary about males.

Lol well I don`t find either sex scary, we`re all humans at the end of the day, we all feel pain

I have sisters, no brothers. I just find men very intimidating. They seem so cold & aloof, no offense to them of course. They also are very tall & look like they could knock your butt down without a sweat. I can handle any women, & I know what they are all about, but men just scare me. I don't know how to get over my fear, do you have any suggestions...

Never heard of that condition. You'd probably feel better talking to a therapist or psychologist.
