Guys, would you keep in touch with a girl you're not interested in?

Long story, but I'll keep it to the point.

This guy will contact me every once in a while to ask how I am, what's been going on in my life, etc. I never initiate contact first, not because I'm not interested but because I don't know if he's interested in me. He has a habit of asking me out, then canceling the day of. Which tells me that he's not interested, yet he still checks in with me at least once a week.

Would he do that if he didn't like me a little?

i knw how you feel. I have been wanting to know the same answer, in my situation its been going on for 6months pretty much non stop.couple of texts once or twice a week checkin hows things and random chat. But his never indicated he likes me. Even though 60% of the time he does initatate the texts first with random words to strike a convo. But we've never mentioned relationships so I don't even know if he has got a girlfriend? So I don't know does he like me as a friend or is he interested in me? So confused!

Same as my situation now, I ask him what he want from me but he change the topic, I told him I'm fallen for him and if not same level of emotion I told him to delete me and don't contact me anymore , he only send emoticons.. but I had a feeling that sometimes he want to boot his ego coz I'm replying, on other side of my mind why he spend morethan 3 hours talking nonsense to me..

This is exactly my situation.. and everytime he notices I've gone quiet/busy/cold he trys harder to win my attention.. at the moment i told him not to keep texting.. and that was 2 weeks ago.. since then he's been liking my things and text me again asking how i am.. i haven't replied yet.. because i dont know what he wants..

i'll tell you about my situation rather than trying to give you advice. My best friends girlfriend had a beast of a cousin who's been inlove with me for months, she text me constantly and I respond to keep her happy and so she doesn't get depressed . But now I just ignore her because I don't want to lead her on anymore.

I would't keep in touch with a girl if I wasn't interested. If he is keeping in touch with you even when he has to always initiate contact first, I would say he is interested. Whether it is just as a friend or more, I wouldn't know.

i wouldn't mind being friends with him because he's very interesting, I like talking to him. but it's hard to be friends with someone so flakey
