Do guys use sarcasm and insults as a flirty signal?

Guys, give me a clue here. I've met a guy who is always joking with me and sarcastic. We actually ended up getting off at a party a few weeks back. For example, there's been a couple of times we've been out and if I don't know the words to a song he'll laugh at me for it or when I turn up he's said things like "Oh, it's you." or "sod off". Recently, I mentioned that I might have to crash with him and his brother while travelling and he said I might only see them if I was lucky before adding that if I let him know soon enough he can take time off work (!?)

Is there some thing where guys use insults and sarcasm as a seduction tool? Why?

Yes he is flirting with you. This is a classic sign that he wants you and is trying make fun of you because the more you respond to his teasing, the more enjoyment he get out it. I think you need to flirt and tease back too. This might lead to a relationship because clearly is show that you guys have a good chemistry together. If lack of chemistry, he wouldn't be be continuing teasing you like this.

I am always sarcastic with the girl I like (have to be careful not to take it too far). Some guys like to tease the girl they like and vice versa. You should bust his balls a bit too.
