What is the title for "more than friends" but not yet boyfriend and girlfriend?

i asked a guy I've been talking to what I am to him and he said that we were more than friends but not boyfriend and girlfriend YET. then I said are we friends with benefits? and he said "no. let me put it this way, if I see you with another guy I'm going to be very pissed at you" and I said why, and he said because he's the only one allowed to do that.

Do you mean he's the only one to be with you, or he's the only one allowed to be seen with other girls?

I'll answer as if it is the first one. I would call that 'seeing' each other. You aren't a couple, but you're more then friends. This would suggest to me that he believes you are in the beginnings and therefore, he doesn't want you to be with other guys cause he wants you, but he is not yet ready to call you his girlfriend. However, I would suggest this doesn't go on for too long, because you may find that you end up being a friend with benefits, because he might come to just prefer that.

well I meant that he's the only one to be with me. apparently that's not the case for him because he confessed kissing another girl during spring break when I asked him if he got with any other girl when we stopped talking. he said he didn't even remember that and his friends told him the next day. so yeah...

Ok, well then you need to ask him, or just not play his games, don't let it become his way by saying no one can have you but me, cause that's just well jerkish.. The fact that he tells you you can't be with anyone else then he goes off and kisses someone... makes me think he wants the cake and eat it.

Sounds like friends with benefits if he doesn't have the guts to make you his girlfriend. You should ask yourself why he won't be your boyfriend NOW if he seems to think you can't see other people.
