This guy I'm sort of dating stood me up, should I text him?

I'm sort of dating him and we're sort of friends. We have a weird undefined relationship that's fine with me. But on Wednesday we were supposed to go out to see a movie and shopping for his sister's birthday (his car is in the shop). We never set times or anything just text when ready type of stuff.

5 rolls around and I'm like huh it's getting late. I text him to see if we're still going. I didn't hear anything from him for another four hours. He texts me at almost 9:30PM and says sorry that he must of been really tired, and his phone alarm didn't go off because it died. I didn't reply and an hour after that he said he didn't blame me for being mad and added maybe another time.

I was REALLY pissed, but he does sleep during the day most of the time and his phone has died on several occasions because he doesn't use it much and forgets to charge.

I didn't reply to him until the next day and all I said was right. Now he hasn't texted me or anything. I don't know if he's waiting for me to say something to him (which I technically did) or he just doesn't care. I'm sick and tired of people being the ones to do something wrong to me and then not going that extra inch to make it up to me and I'm tired of being the one to always resolve things, even when I've done nothing wrong. But I still want to be friends he's my only friend (I'm actually his only friend as well) so I don't know what to do.

Don't invest too much into him. Date a few guys at once, don't put all your eggs in one basket, you know? Next time he asks to hang out tell him "I am seeing a movie with a friend tonight." And leave it at that. He won't know if the friend is a boy or a girl and that may make him more interested and add a little ticking clock that let's him know that other people value you too and he needs to step it up.

I'm sorry but did you actually read everything I wrote? We are each others' only friends...and I clearly stated that the relationship we have is not bothering me and not the point. It looks like you just read the title and maybe first paragraph. Also, I'm not interested in playing games I'm just asking opinions on if I should stay firm or if I should YET AGAIN make the first step in fixing something.

Well, if you only have one friend, I would make a point to make some new ones. And hanging out with those new friends is not playing games. Also, I did read the whole thing, gumdrop. You need to find more friends, you are deserving of that much.

Read the whole thing but just then saw that he's mine only friend, right. You told me to TELL HIM I was out with someone else in the hopes of manipulating him into being worried about me being out with someone else. (which wouldn't work because he doesn't get jealous anyway) That is playing games. If you don't know that then whatever. But I'm not into playing games with guys, I'm not a teen. How ridiculous would it be to tell my only friend I'm out with imaginary people so he what? Gets mad?

Suffice to say, thanks but no thanks. I'm not going down drama road I'm just looking to see if other people think I should text him first or not.

Tired, phone out of battery, ''forgets'' to recharge, to me those sounds very much like excuses, and very common ones.

If a girl would stood me up or would just bail away from me, in all honesty, it would be very sore hit. By messing around in such way means nothing else than total disrespect.

In such cases the best is not to waste time and patience to people who ain't worth it.
