When a guy asks to study (alone) with you does it mean he's interested?

So we sit next to each other in class and have each others numbers but it's because the professor wanted everyone to exchange contact info with a couple other people in case we had questions. When he sees me walking to class he calls my name and walks with me and he usually walks with me after class. When he has questions or anything he always texts me over the other people that we exchanged numbers with. And then most recently when we walked out of class together and were talking for a bit till we left to go to our other classes but like 5 minutes later he texted me and said that we should study for the next test together.

Whenever we talk he always maintains a lot of eye contact and smiles a LOT.

So, my question is does it sound like he is interested or am I just believing what I want to believe?

I'm going ot go against the current here and say that he just wants to study together.You're most likely the closest person to him in the entire class and probably bright to so he wants to make good of that.

He is trying to get to know you better. Eye contact plus smiles is definitely a huge plus. Also he chooses you over other people to ask questions.

Studying gives a bonus to learn things about the subject, and you. If it goes well, he might ask you out on a date or go some place fun.
