Guys why would you go quiet around a girl?

there is this guy that I kinda like.. and I'm friends with his group of friends. I always see him talking and laughing with them but when I join them he goes quiet and just stares at me.. he's so shy he doesn't even say anything to me even though we had lots of interesting convos on fb before, what could this mean? :\

BTW the girl he likes is in the same group..

so should I just ignore him and forget about him?

That's fairly common for guys to go quiet when a girl comes into the group. Mostly because the things that guys laugh at with each other probably aren't really funny to girls. I take it he's been talking to you on fb about the girl he likes. Maybe that's why he goes quiet when you show up. He probably does like both of you. If you want this guy you need to find a way to get him away from the group and get to know him better. If you guys talk about music or something you could be like hey check out this new song I got on my ipod. The ipods over by my locker though so follow me over to it and we can listen. I'm not really the kind that feels like competing when they already like another person. It just isn't worth the frustration. jmo.

You seem to know about the girl he likes so maybe he feels somewhat shy as a direct result of you knowing things about him others don't. On some level he might be fearful you could tell the group (irrational fear, but aren't they all?) if he tries to engage conversation with you. Have you tried bringing it up on FB? Alternate to this is that he may have grown to love you but is at what he thinks is a disadvantage since you guys have had so many FB conversations already. At any rate, try confronting him on FB about it. Don't be mean, just be curious and find out.

nooooo! if you let go of him you will never know what would have happend if you took the first step and you'll always regret for letting him go! shy guys are the best ones trust me! If been your situations before and he definitely likes you but he doesn't knows how to show it to you. Ask him out. :)
