Would a girl spend time alone with someone she is not interested in?

I'm sort of friends with this girl (who has a BF). One day while having our once in a blue moon chat, I mentioned that I was going to go somewhere for the entire day to check out some stuff. Even without me saying anything, she smiled and said "i don't think I'll be busy that day, I could possibly come along...". So we ended spending the entire day together just talking, laughing, and yes flirting. So I'm wondering what the deal is here...I know she is attracted to me...is she just trying to be friendly or something else?

If I consider the guy a close friend, I'd definitely spend time alone with him, just to have fun, as I would with any other friend. So yes, I, as a girl, would spend time alone with a guy I'm not interested in. But if she likes you, she wants to be closer friends with you in hopes of something happening. Either that or she thinks you're interesting/harmless enough to be better friends with. Or she was bored and wanted something to do/ wanted to get away from something that day.
