Girls, does wearing dresses make you feel weird?

All the time, I see girls who wear dresses casually, and usually, nobody thinks anything of it, including myself. But when I notice, sometimes I think, "Why can't I wear dresses like that?"

I have only ever worn a dress on special occasions, and it makes me jealous that most girls can just be like, "Oh, I guess I'll wear a dress today."

What's the secret, haha? I used to be a huge tomboy, and by the time I grew out of it, I had to teach myself about makeup/hair/style, etc. And I can't get a hang of this girlie thing!

Do any of you have any tricks/self-imposed rules to wearing dresses on a regular basis?

It happense gradually. I used to always dress boyishly as well. I started wearing tank tops a jacket and jeans, then went to more girlie tops and jeans, then became more girlie and now only wear dresses. I did start with plain dresses.

For example, in the winter, you could wear a plain black woollen dress. If it's sleeveless, put on a cardigan. You can either wear two layers of tights or leggings.

I usually just wear dresses as a top because it feels more casual and high street dresses are too short. They're okay with jeans, but I wear them with black or grey leggings.

I feel more comfortable in dresses because trousers outline your bum and front.

I'm like you, dresses for special occasions, nights out and things like that. For me, they are just impractical. I'm a jeans-and-T-shirt kind of girl. I own many dresses, I'm a seamstress so my dresses aren't for casual. I have a hard time finding dresses that could be worn every day that fit really well. It doesn't make me feel weird, it just makes me self-conscious, especially since everyone comments since I'm always in jeans and boots.

There's no self-imposed rule for me. I do have a few skirts that I wear in the summer because I don't like shorts.

I've never been the one to be super girly, so dresses aren't really for me. I'm more of a jean laid back type girl.

Yeah feels so strange. The breezy air coming up through the vents makes me feel naughty. But I feel so beautiful especially when I spin.

Haha, I'm trying. Every time I attempt, it feels so weird, I end up changing before I leave my dorm. I just need to suck it up, haha.
