Fat is NOT Curvy

It really baffles me how fat girls use the saying "Men go for curves, dogs go for bones." And the girls that use this phrase are always fat. Curvy is a person with an hourglass shape (big boobs, thin fit waist, and a big butt.) But I find it hilarious how girls with big/small boobs, big fat stomach, and big enourmous butts call themselves curvy. I myself have a curvy figure and I work hard to maintain it and it just frustates me when someone claims they're curvy when in reality they're not. If I started claiming I'm skinny, then that would make people who are actually skinny seem like they're anorexic.

Fat is when you have breasts BECAUSE you're fat, a huge butt, thunderthighs to go along with it, and then fat limbs. Oh yeah and then the biggest difference - that huge belly. Do they really not see that they are fat and not curvy?

Why is society sugar coating things? If you are fat, you are not curvy. It's as simple as that.

Curvy is healthy or slim with an hourglass figure and not a round ball of fat.

I don't have anything against fat people, but I wish some girls would realize they are overweight and that's the only reason why they think they are curvy.

lol. I can't believe this curvy vs. fat thing has become such a heated subject over the last 48 hours on here. Look people can generally label themselves whatever they want to make them feel better. At the end of the day though, it still won't change how others and the world at large views them. So if a genuinely fat person wants to call themselves curvy... okay cool... have at it. But simply calling yourself curvy isn't going to give you the benefits that a genuinely curvy person gets (such as added health benefits, attraction of the opposite sex, etc). So I see it as largely a benign act which only harms the person who chooses to lie to themselves. With that being said, i wouldn't be pissed off about it personally. If you are curvy in the non-literal sense of the word (meaning skinny with noticeable skulpt/definition) understood by people today when it comes to descibing women, then you've got nothing to worry about

its true though! I don't know how many times I've been browsing a dating website and seen a girl label herself as "curvy" when she's honestly just overweight. Like, if a person wants to call themselves that, fine.. cool. But it feels like 90% of the time, they feel like they can fool everyone else into believing in the same delusion. I usually go with what my BMI tells me: overweight. I am currently 10-15 pounds over my expected normal weight. I also have too much LDL or "bad cholesterol". I bet my young age is keeping me alive at the moment, but I definitely need to regulate my diet and exercise if I plan to live longer and healthier.

Thank God someone has actually said this straight out. It's not to shame body types or anything but to simply be able to differentiate between them. Whether you are small and thin, averagely proportionate, slim on the top and heavy on the bottom or visa versa or overweight it does not mean you are any less of a woman. For a while I was ashamed to be in public. Trust me of you are overweight you know it all you have to do is go clothes shopping. Since I have been off the meds I have lost like almost 50 pounds. Meaning it was the meds responsible for the weight gain. Oh and why did I need those meda? Because I tried suicide and was hiding the fact that I was sexually abused. I find this repulsive. This is the internet. Fat people will make pictures of themselves from angles that are less revealing of their real body shape and hope that everyone will accept it as truth. It's just a way of dealing with their insecurities and giving them a moral boost. It's not like that in the real outside world. Fat people are just fat there and everyone will see it immediately. There is no sugarcoating it. So does it surprise you that people want to feel good about themselves and experience what it would be like to have a better body shape? It's the easy way out. Look if this is something that will ever bother you again you need to ask why. I mean why is it so important that you are recognized by others over yourself. Where you once flat and skinny and felt inferior to anything that was considered beautiful? Are overweight body's a problem to your image? I debated about commenting on this but it keeps popping up in my feed so here I am. I already wrote a Take on my stance in this whole debate. I let people shame me into not referring to myself as something on this site before. It ain't happening again. I said it on my Take and I'll say it here, nobody is gonna tell me what I can call myself. Period. I know my size. I'm aware of my weight. And I don't try to hide it. I called myself curvy at my bigger weight and I call myself curvy now, 40lbs down and counting. I work out every day and eat healthy. But if you just looked at me you'd refer to me as "a fat woman who's never worked out a day in her life" right? Right. Oh well. Continue on.

I totally agree. I will admit I am a bit fat. I will admit that I am not healthy and I need to work on it because it is not healthy and I personally don't think it looks good at all. If a guy is interested in me the way I am then great but Im still going to work towards better health. It totally annoys me when women (especially very obese women) try to talk down on skinny or healthy women. We live in an overly PC society, the thing that pains me about the whole 'bigger is beautiful' agenda is that when they are trying to say that women don't have to be models to be beautiful what they suggest seems to be more along the lines of shaming thin or athletic people for their build. I was a skinny guy growing up and for a guy I still have a small frame and that's something that people comment on without a second thought. I believe another my take said this, but curvy is a shape. i am fat but i have curves, i believe curves to be when your waist is smaller than your hips, which not every slim or fat person has, but not only slim figures have it either. Curves doesn't negate fat and it doesn't negate if a person is slim either. Size is a fact as well as whether someone has curves is also a fact.

As someone else has said: You know what a curve is? It's a noun, described as: a continuously bending line, without angles. A bending line... Given the definition, a fat person is more curvy than what you described a curvy person to be: rolls are bending lines... that's a curve.

Curvy is subjective. Greek statues where considered the definition of beauty today they would be called fat. Only 2-3 percent of women on this planet have a true hourglass shape (curvy). Other than that most women are thick meaning they are pear shaped. Plus you can be big and an hourglass shape as long as you have waist definition and an upper and lower body and balanced shoulders and hips. Well i believe that different body shape that appeals to different people. being appealing is one thing, being healthy is another. if you are overweight/ body fat percentage too high... you are very prone to diseases, regardless whether you are appealing to anyone or not. even though you migh look "curvy" you still can be overweight. Marilyn Monroe was curvy. A woman with curves is able to stand up straight without pain, look down and see her feet.

A woman with rolls, extraneous amounts of adipose tissue around her midsection or hanging off of her arms or a flabby upper pubic area (coined "fupa") is NOT curvy, either. She is not even chubby. She is overweight.

Overweight is a nice way of saying "fat."

I don't think you understand what men mean when they say curvy, to most men curvy means Beyonce, Rihanna, Christina Hendricks, Kate Upton, etc. These women are the ideal view of curvy to most men and not what the definition of a curve is. It is a view not a definition. If people can call themselves whatever they want then a fat woman can also call herself skinny, but just because she calls herself that doesn't mean she is one.
