Before we get started with this story I have to warn you that some of the stuff that will be shared is graphic. This story involves a rather disturbing automobile accident involving death. If you do not think you can read this please do not go any farther.
One year ago yesterday, I lost two of my friends from High School days. One of them was a girl I really liked ever since we were in elementary school. They had gotten married not long after and had a child in 2014. They lived in my old hometown back in Tennessee where I had recently moved away from the previous year.
That evening they were going to the nearest town right across the North Carolina state line to pick up some supplies for the little girl's first birthday. A 5 ton Chevrolet K3500 pickup truck was heading down the road towards the Tennessee state line going at almost 100 miles per hour. The family was driving in a Honda Civic. As soon as both vehicles met near the state line, they crashed head on because the truck crossed left of center lane. The impact automatically killed all three in the Honda immediately. The truck and car were both leaking Diesel and Gas respectively. That then caused a fire to break out in both the car and truck. The man and his dog were both pulled out of the burning truck alive at the time but in critical condition. The man died an hour later from his injuries.
The community wanted answers of why three of it's most beloved residents were killed in such a horrible crash. Was the man on drugs? Had he had too much to drink? Did he have a heart attack at the wheel? Was he Diabetic? The test results later showed that he was diabetic. But, that wasn't the cause of the accident. The NC Highway Patrol lab in Raleigh determined that his blood alcohol content was three to five times the legal limit of the state of North Carolina's allowed limit of .08%
Drinking and driving is not a joke. You could end up losing your job, losing your license forever, spending time in prison, being embarrassed your whole life with the moniker of a drunk driver, or you could end up taking someone elses life and/or yours. So anytime you plan on going out and drinking, either designate a non alcohol drinking driver or call a cab or take the bus. You will end up being a lot safer and saving other lives, your money, and your reputation. So please don't drink and drive!

years ago I was in a car accident because of a drunk driver, he was in a van with 5 prostitutes and was drinking, his car hit my father's car and got out of the street and exploded, I saw 6 people die in a second because of this I didn't get in a car for 6 months and still today I am afraid of driving at night because of drunk people
Wow. Sorry to hear all that. Glad you're ok now
Great story it's really good to inform more people of the harsh reality of drunk driving
Thanks. Sadly I learned driving with low blood sugar can result in drunk like driving and many times diabetics and hypoglycemics are arrested for DUI even though they haven't been drinking. Many times they are often released and charges dropped. But it's sad both have similar signs but Yet can't distinguish the difference
It's okay my blood sugar takes a while for it to get low enough that it affects something like my driving abilities.
True. I was once pulled over on suspicion of dui yet I don't drink. lol. O was extremely tired though I had to say the alphabet and follow the pen but I was let go with a warning
