One thing not mentioned by others yet is drink lots of water. Fiber is recommended and there are fiber supplements in the health sections of stores. They work, but sometimes don't seem to because you are not getting enough water. The system separates liquid waste from solid as it passes through the intestines and colon. If there is not enough water present, what is there will get depleted and constipation results. I think eight glasses of water a day is recommended, but more will not hurt.
The water thing is something you want to keep up consistently. For your present constipation, get a lot of water in you, and also use a laxative. As with any medication, pay attention to the notices and warnings.

For 5 minutes...There are many levels of constipation from spending a lot of time waiting on the throne to real pain and health concerns. Most people are aware that you can use an enema to help with constipation but obviously you can’t do this every time. Another approach is to use a Hand Bidet Sprayer. Eat fiber but not too much fiber - too much fiber will constipate you. I recommend a quarter of an egg plant or half a handful of pumpkin seeds.
I agree with the others. Take a laxative! I've gone a few days before. It's extremely painful.

I think it was 4 days. It was back when I ate a lot of junk and rarely worked out or went for walks. Often had stomach pain and problems going to the bathroom. I finally said to myself that I am never eating junk again and am gonna go for 1-hour walks plus lift weights everyday. It's the best change to my life I ever made.
Anyway, try drinking more water and maybe eat something that causes you to go to the bathroom. Pancakes and baked potatoes work well for me.Not to be too graphic but, when I was a wee lad, I used to go 'number 2' like 5 times a month.
