Well, the people who die from heat break it isn't the actual heart break that kills them, it's the stress caused by the person they love to just be gone, it also has to do with the person being older and their body not being able to handle the added stress.
I do think that younger people can get incredibly sick from heart break. Think of it like depression, when you are depressed you feel tired, your body hurts, you get dizzy. Heart break is a form of depression, if you are constantly being hurt by lies and disappointment I'm sure it could affect you physically in the same way.
I'm only 18 but my boyfriend of three and a half years broke up with me over a month ago. I can hardly eat, I've been eating maybe one small meal every two days because it's all I can force down my throat. It all has to do with how your mental state is affecting your physical one.
Yup, your inner you, your emotions, can take ahold of your health. We see people with a broken heart not only having war in the inside, but their outer appearance tend to fall apart.
Positive people tend to live longer than those who are pessimistic and life has done them terrible
The "broken heart" is usually an ischemic attack. Young people are less likely to have them because our arterial lumens don't have as much athersclerotic plaque as older people. When we are stressed the sympathetic response is activated. One of the things that our bodies does is increase blood pressure while also vasoconstricting. with the sclerotic vessel there would be less oxygen gooing to the muscles which would cause them to starve and die. An important muscle is the heart.
