male body builders are also addicts but Women are following their footsteps and i just dont' understand why.
One thing is exercising for health and fun , but another thing is doing intensive exercise everyday and making it a priority.
I used to exercise almost every day when I was fat but then I found Pilates - I mean some of the moves are like 6 freaking crunches - I mean a lot of people, not just women do get addicted to the gym and there is such a thing as a gym addict unfortunately, a lot of people also believe it is good to not have a single fat on the body which is also a lie because these people will not survive in the mountains yay high anyway, I do it for fun nowadays or to release my anger lol and I do yoga there I mean I am paying for the gym so might as well take advantage of the things that come along with it...
I'm not an exercise addict, but I do like to get in a good work out every day. I don't do it because I particularly enjoy it, in fact sometimes I absolutely hate it, but I want to be healthy, fit and strong so I go. And yes, I do do an intense work out whilst i'm there, if you're going to do it, you might as well do it right.
well good for you. but why the need to do intense workouts everyday, if they're not medically needed. You can do nice walks on some days without them being intense. I mean you can go right ahead and do what you want but it doesn't make you any stronger healthwise.
There's even bad health effects with high intensity.
Sweating and an increase in heart rate burns calories and the key to being fit, healthy and maintaining your weight is calories in/calories out. A stroll is fine and I do go for walks, but it doesn't burn many calories. And yes, these workouts have made me a lot stronger and a heck of a lot healthier. I'm aware that over-doing it is bad, but I never take it too far.

I wouldn't say it's a widespread addiction. Let's face it, a lot of people barely exercise, if at all. However, there has been an increase among those who do regularly exercise to develop an exercise addiction. Why exactly, no one knows, but it can be just as dangerous as no exercising due to the amount of exercise-related injuries these people sustain.
Here's an article on exercise addiction.

i'm not an exercise addict. i just run/walk on my treadmill every morning for 30 minutes to an hour while watching the morning news. that's it! well sometimes i take out my exercise mat and follow some YouTube fitness videos. i'm such a DIY girl haha. :)
I'm not an exercise addict, I exercise hardcore on certain days but stay active and healthy everyday. Nothing is wrong with that but that's their business not ours. Listen here though, exercising should be a daily thing it's healthy even if it's a 30 min walk, we can't be lazy now.
Its just something that keeps us healthy and that we enjoy doing, cause it does come out with a good outcome. I play soccer for a high level and that includes lots of training sessions but also your own personal fitness, wouldn't say im an addict but its just something thats gotta be done :)
Exercise is great, and important and I do it, but tbh those people piss me the fuck off (if that's like... not their living. Like if they're a physical therapist or a professional weight lifter or whatever then great)
But like.. my old boss. She was like. Oh I haven't exercised in a day. I feel so gross. Also all of you are fat.
Like gee thanks. I hate you. I hate those people man.
some people definitely are. the media is making it more of a necessaity for perfect bodies and such. also im in college and schools are promoting healthy food and exerecise much more. personaly I lovee fitness but I don't do it excessively (3-4 times a week) and I stil make sure I eat things I enjoy and go out and have fun. I love gym classes (yoga, core classes, spinning) and biking or running
I am hooked onto yoga.. doing it 3 to 4 times a weem
Considering the obesity rate in America, nope.
They are addicted to the adrenaline rush.
