I was weighing 75 kilos (sorry I am from france, don't know this in pounds) at my highest ( at height 1,68 cm). I was lazy, never worked out and worked a lot. I felt terrible. So I did a big mistake and didn't eat enough anymore (and did not work out) Results: down to 64 kilos within half a year! I felt great until my body adjusted, slowed down its metabolism and the weight went up again to 70! That's when I hit the brake a second time. I started working out. First courses in the gym, but that got boring. I needed a goal! so I decided to start triathlon. For someone who doenst know how to crawl, never been on a roadbike and couldnt last a 20 min jog, thats a big goal. That was two years ago. But I managed in slow steps, met new inspirational people and plan on doing an ironman next year. Weightwise I am still at 65k but with a body fat of 20%. I think whats important, is to find some activity you like and celebrate the small successes. Have a big goal but don't expect it to happen overnight. otherwise you get disappointed if you don't see results within the first weeks. Good luck!

I am during not after but I hope this helps. I was 181lbs two months ago and by following a strict regiment of 1000 cals a day also I was logging food and exercise on www.myfitnesspal.com <- that's a really good place to start because they help form the best goals to lose up to 2lbs a week.
I also started cardio and weight training; you can start small because it all adds up in the long run. Losing weight is 70% diet, 30% exercise.
I cut out all fizzy drinks and now only drink milk with my cereal and water.
I am now 2 months later I am 164lbs; 17lbs down, 50 to go and I'm doing it a healthy way.

3 Years ago I really let myself go when things didn't work out with a girl I was seeing. I'm 5'4" and peaked at 158lbs. A year after that I met another lady friend that I really liked and she was my motivation to work out and now I am at 135 lbs with around 10-11% body fat. I only weight trained and cut out useless carbs. Eat clean.
40lbs!! Diet (cut out processed foods/eat a lot and I mean a lot of veggies) is the main factor followed by a combo weight training and cardio.

Im 5'6, and currently 15 years old.
I have been overweight always, and tried starting a diet so many times - never lasted. Until one day I got sick of being fat and ugly. my start weight was 198 pounds, I am now 130 pounds. I still have 30 pounds to go, but I'll get there. I took about 6 months. I prefer not to share my routine, because it got out of hand.. Or well, in the beginning I ate a healthy 1200 calories a day, so thats safe to share :)I dieted and lost about 5 pounds. hope that helps.
