Why is it horrible to eat healthy?

Anonymous
So I'm not going to lie, I'm a thin, fit, individual.

Why am I a thin fit individual? It's a combination of genetics, and the fact that I do my best to eat healthy and work out.

So I like to eat healthy, and yes, this includes counting calories. I'm not psycho about it, but I do check the calorie count on what I consume. I don't count it down to the single calorie, but I'm more likely to choose a 110 calorie bowl of applesauce over a 340 calorie piece of cheesecake for a snack.

Recently I was "caught" checking the calorie count on something and the person I was with was like, "Are you counting calories?"

And I explained that I'm trying to make healthy choices and she was all like, "You're a twig! You can eat whatever you want and as much as you want! No need to count calories!"

Why is this the mentality? Maybe the reason the thin fit people are so thin and fit is because they monitor their diet and fitness?

It's not like I worked out so hard so I can then just eat back what I burned. That's not how one gets fit. That's how one stays the same.

I'm not starving myself, either. I eat enough and I draw from all food groups in my daily diet.

But I've noticed the mentality. Why do you think that is?
