I think that drinking has lost its fun. Am I just getting old? Older and wiser?

I like alcohol, I do, but I'm just not really into binge drinking anymore... at least, when it happens (which, let's admit it does), I just don't find it all that fun. I like different beers and I like getting a little silly, but being drunk just is not fun anymore. I hate being hungover too. Am I just getting boring and old or what? I still hear romantic songs of adults going out and drinking and having a good time, but Idk, I just don't romanticize the idea anymore.

Nah, it's normal. I'm at that stage too. At some point you just get tired of all the hangovers. All the mornings with your head in the toilet. All the stories of the stupid crap you did the night before. It just gets tiresome and the novelty of drinking to excess wears right off. I still drink but not to the extent I used to. I actually want to remember my nights and be able to function the next morning. When I was in my late teens/early twenties it was all about seeing how much I could drink. I had this messed up notion that the more I drink the cooler I was but I've wisened up since then and it seems like you're following a similar path. I think we all come to this realization sooner or later.

Same here. It's totally ok. Who wants to waste a morning or an entire day feeling lousy and hung over? Who wants to drink to excess and have all those useless empty calories? It's ok to drink in a manner that you enjoy. If you don't enjoy it then you don't do it, like anything else. Eventually things lose their appeal. It is just like anything else!

i am 25 now and i don't find drinking as exciting anymore. i only ever used to be a social drinker when out with friends and there was a stage that i am not proud to say i was blacking out every weekend and being sick etc, now i feel like i have matured i don't find getting drunk as funny anymore. now when i drink i just get tired and want to go to sleep lol, must be getting old huh
