it feels like somebody is standing on my chest and I can't breathe
does this ever happen to anyone else?
Yes. When I dreamt that my mother died, I cried so much in my dream that I could feel my chest hurting on the inside and I woke up feeling like that. When my dog died I also felt this way. Emotional health is very important for your health, which is why things like people fainting from shock, or newly widowed people die within a few years of their spouse's death, happen in the first place. Feeling incredibly upset about something for ages does take a toll on your health.
Yes, that's normal. When my ex-boyfriend of 9 months broke up with me a few months ago because he didn't ever "love" me, that's all I ever felt. Even now I still sometimes feel that.
Sure, that's a big part of emotional pain. It aches in your heart, and in the pit of your stomach.
It surges around and causes headaches.
Yea, that can be painful.

The only physical pain I get from sadness is heart ache. It feels like someone keeps stabbing me in the chest... it hurts. :P
Only if I've been crying soooo bad. I can't stop and it hurts soo much like I have to keep gasping for air.
