Yes, I switched to a low carb diet and eat mostly protein. Changed about 4 years ago. Protein does suppress hunger whilst carbs do for a short while but then you have a craving to eat again and that makes you fat. As you get older like me the metabolism slows right down and too much carb puts weight on and leads to diabetes. I only use small plates now but all my little aches and pains have gone. I eat a lot of fish and tinned sardines. Salmon and scrambled eggs.
The Adkins diet was original designed to cure diabetes and the side effect was weight loss.
Sugar and alcohol are the biggest carbs and should be avoided. Also fruit contains natural sugar so not too much fruit.
But yes, I do eat much less than I used to. It's a good thing I think.

Only lose appetite when I'm a very low-carb day (50g or less)... it might be of all the veggies I'm eating meh don't know.
