Should I go to urgent care?

I donated blood yesterday, and afterwards I felt really dizzy and light headed, even as the day progressed and into the night. I started my period while I was sleeping last night, and my menstrual flow has been really heavy. I ended up feinting at school today, and the LVN's on my school campus came, but they didn't think that I needed to be hospitalized. Turns out, I don't meet the weight requirement to give blood any more. I've recently lost a lot of weight, but I haven't weighed myself in a while. I can just tell by looking. I was sent home, but my muscles are feeling really fatigued and I'm really short of breath. My boyfriend is insisting that I go to urgent care, but I don't feel like I really need to go. I think I'll be alright if I just lay down and take it easy for a while. Should I go to urgent care? Could they do anything for me if I did go? Thanks for the advice!

Lack of blood. Unfortunate timing to have a period right after donating blood.

Drink a bunch of coconut water. It's crazy how much that can help. Eat some food high in iron.

If you're short of breath... yeah, maybe go see somebody, that shouldn't be happening. I don't know where you are, so I don't know the medical system around you. If you are in Canada, then just go to a walk-in clinic. It doesn't sound quite serious enough to go to emergency, but the shortness of breath part is concerning enough that you should probably see someone. When it doubt, err on the side of safety though.

If you're still bleeding from your period then you should go just to be on the safe side. If you're not though, I really wouldn't worry too much. Just rest and drink some oj.
