Im 17, and I think I may have cancer?

Maybe I might be overreacting, but I think I have cancer. I know that some of you just can't wait to tell me how foolish I am, but please try to understand. I don't know all of the symptoms of cancer, but it runs bad in my family. My maternal grandfather died from lung cancer, my uncle died of leukemia, and my aunt has breast cancer.

Two of the symptoms that I heard of is hair loss and blood. I woke up this morning with HUGE blood stains on my pillow. If it was someone else, then I'd think that they died in their sleep. I am POSITIVELY sure that it didn't come from my teeth, or gums, nose, etc.. because I had a thick bloody taste in my mouth. And those places weren't bleeding. It was wayy too much blood on my tounge and down my throat. I have also been losing hair.

Please tell me what could really be wrong. Tell me that I'm wrong.

Please, please, please go and see a medical professional who will send you for tests to get to the root cause of this bleeding and hair loss. The battle against cancer can be won but only with an early diagnosis, so don't prolong seeking medical advice and lastly I hope it isn't cancer and I wish you all the best.

But please go and seek medical support as soon as possible.

You have no Idea unless you have been told that by a doctor. I would go check it out ASAP though. I hope your ok and don't have it.

Cancer is typically found by lumps. Like when my dad went to the hospital about it he had a visible lump on his neck. No other symptoms really other than a sore throat I think. Either way what you are explaining doesn't sound good either. I would go to the hospital anyway.

I don't have any lumps yet but i do have a sore throat.

My dad only had a sore throat because it was in a lymph node in his neck.

ya I guess but losing hair isn't common unless it is just your regular shedding and neither is blood for the mouth

you need to go to a doctor because if you're very stressed/ something is wrong, they are who you must talk to. What you have described doesn't sound like cancer though

1. cancer does not cause blood loss through your mouth.
2. cancer does not cause hair loss, its the chemo therapy that does that.

3. weight loss is often a common symptom of cancer, do you experience that?
4. see a doctor anyway because it doesn't sound good.

Stupid question but are you sure that the blood didn't just come as part of your period or something?

I'm sure it didn't. There was a dried blood trail from my mouth leading to the pillow. And my periods are irregular.

Yeah okay that's really weird. It happened to me *once* I still don't know where exactly the blood came from. I didn't have cancer though.

Really? Did your mouth have a weird taste to it? Was it a lot?

It was all over the top of my pyjamas and pillows and I seriously have no idea where it came from. But I didn't die so that's okay, it only happened once. My guess is probably that I sometimes grind my teeth at night without me knowing, and that caused some sort of issue, but I have no idea.

You need to see a doctor to do line of blood work
look to you blood count, check your sinuses you
could have vitamin deficiency too

I think I'm anemic. I'm not sure though. And my mom didn't take me to the hospital. But I might be okay.
