Do I need to go on? lol Basically, 80-90% of women have them. Stretch marks are hard to get rid of. They can be because of fast puberty growth, genetics, poor diet, etc. Only very few women are blessed to not get stretch marks and/or cellulite. My tiny A cups have stretch marks. Lol

To expect women not to have them, well, you're gonna have a bad time lol It'd be like me trying to date men with no visible Adam's apple. Maybe I will find a few men here and there, but I just eliminated like 80-90% of men.

Most stretch marks on girls happen during puberty and the teen years, when we grow super fast - much faster than skin can regenerate and adjust, so that's why it stretches and scars. Especially around the hips, thighs and boobs where most of the rapid growth occurs. They fade over time though, mine are practically gone. You can't see them.

It's not from being out of shape or overeating. Rapid weight gain does cause stretch marks as well, but in different areas (like the stomach, upper arms, butt, etc) than where most girls have stretch marks.

The large majority of girls get them from growing. I have stretch marks where my shoulders and my pectoral muscles connect. I started working out with a friend of mine who is a body builder and although I didn't take supplements or steroids like he did, by following his workout routine my muscle mass grew faster than it takes the time for the skin to grow and I ended up getting stretch marks. I also have them on the side of my hips from growing too fast. When you factor in that I reached my full height (5'8) at 14 years old, it causes stretch marks to appear in areas where your skin was forced to stretch faster than it can repair.

It's fairly common because girls puberty involves the rapid growth of fatty deposits (breasts) and alterations in their hip structure (to allow for child birth.) these both lead to stretch marks in the breasts, butt, and hips. (the stomach stretch marks typically are after childbirth because of babies)

Apart from puberty growth, pregnancy and such that were previously mentioned, there are also ENVIRONMENTAL causes.

I have stretch marks on my knees, because I was hit by a car when I was 6. My legs were badly damaged and those stretch marks have never healed. But oh no, I guess I should have "taken better care of myself" when some fucker was was going twice the speed limit in a residential area.

My boyfriend has massive stretch marks on his inner thighs, because he's a biker as well as does some hard labour in his spare time. Do I love him any less or think he's unattractive?

You try going through puberty. Letting yourself go means getting overweight and not dressing up. Stretch marks are not preventable if any lady gets them its not their fault. What the fuck is wrong with you? Stretch marks don't come from letting yourself go or not taking care of your skin they come from the stretching of your skin. AKA if you ever gain or lose more than 5 pounds in a short period of time (like less than a month) you're probably gonna have stretch marks. Men have them too.

Hmm guys can get stretch marks pretty easily too.. I was crazy about the gym a few years ago and got stretch marks around my biceps from bulking up in a short time. Men and women also go through weight fluctuations too.
