What part of the body protect women in a free kick in a soccer match?

Men protect the groin preventing the ball reaches the testes.

Watching on TV saw that some women just protect the breasts , others also protect the groin.

It is not necessary to protect both parties?

I take Karate so I have been on the receiving end of many crotch and chest kicks.
In both males and females the chest sternum and ribs are very vulnerable. We can wear body armor of choosing. A cracked rib can take over a month to heal.

It is mandatory for males to wear groin cups in all Karate functions. Guys really don't like them because they can pinch and restrict movement. Worse, a solid groin kick to a guy, cup or not, will probably disable and remove him from the competition. Guys are extremely vulnerable to groin kicks.

Groin kicks to females are not an issue, doesn't hurt, no cup needed, don't take us down, despite all the immature claims by guys.

I was a forward on a co ed soccer team, like from 10-12 YO. I don't know if the boys were required to wear a cup or not.
The girls don't need them.

I think a kick to the groin will hurt a woman, but nowhere nearly as badly as a guy.

@Paige90 I don't know... I once kicked my sister in the crotch, and it definitely hurt her. Not nearly as badly as the subsequent knee to the family jewels hurt me lol, so it's not at all equal. But I think girls still do have quite a few nerve endings in that area.

@jbasch They do have nerve endings between their legs but they also do in the rest of their body. It would hurt anywhere on a girl's body but it's totally different if a guy gets hit or kicked between his legs since he has exposed hanging balls.

I heard a couple other girls say they don't need groin protectors in sports. But it's hard to believe as a male since I'm so sensitive to pain there.

How much would it hurt if you were backhand slapped between the legs with about the force you would use to squish a mosquito? I got hit with about that amount of force in martial arts once and I that floored me in agony for a few minutes... Embarrassing for a 6'3 guy to be floored by a 5'4 girl, but it was a cheap shot
