Has anyone on GAG taken Phentermine? What was your experience with it?

I'm taking Phentermine to lose weight. Has anyone here taken it, and if so, what was your experience with it?

I thought I liked it. It did make me jittery and I barely slept since it essentially acts like speed. I lost a decent amount of weight on it, but once I went off it all came back. Not because of eating habits, but because I didn't have the energy to work 12 hour shifts and go to the gym and other things. My activity level went down so I wasn't using up all those calories. Because for me anyway I couldn't sit still longer than 30 mind without having to do something to get rid of the energy. Which I know sounds great, but when you can only sleep 4 hours max it gets a little tiring.

Never taken it, but I don't recommend stimulants to lose weight. They only work in the short term.

I would simply go on more walks, lift weights while watching TV/movies and increase your fruit/veggie intake.

I already do these things. Trust me, I know. I've always been against diet pills. But I gain weight very rapidly, I adapted a health lifestyle long ago. I eat healthier than all my thin friends. I exercise 2 hours a day. I've been to the doctor 20+ times about my weight, getting blood work, x-rays, ultrasounds, anything to find what's wrong with me. Absolutely nothing is found every time, I'm still gaining. I'm pretty sure it's because of my metabolism, I think I have a ridiculously slow metabolism. I can eat nothing at all and I'd still gain weight. I'm tired of being "eew". I want to be "ooh". So really, this was sort-of a last resort. I always said I'd kill myself if I got to 200 pounds, and then I did, and I've been miserable. It sucks when you try so hard and what works for everyone else won't work for you. I feel like there's something seriously wrong with me.

That all sucks, but won't you have to take this for a while in order to keep the metabolism? Because it's artificially induced.

I'm glad you think of it as a last resort (it is), but I'm sad that you're now at that.

Thank you. Well, from what I've read, it's temporary. It basically boosts your metabolism slightly and decreases your hunger and gives you tons of energy. I get really jumpy when I first take it. So I've read that you can still maintain the weight afterwards if you stick to the same diet and exercise routine. That's why people usually gain back, because they fall into their old habits. But I'm keeping relatively the same diet and exercise as before (I want to be realistic) and I've been losing, so.. hopefully it will stay off!
