Because she's worried he could be a perv. Pervs can be in any job really, they aren't all just those weird guys who are loners and just weird... some are even police and fire men.
Really, it's unlikely, but not impossible. I mean, it has happened before that doctors have done stuff to people, and some doctors even did stuff to hundreds of women.
Usually a nurse accompanies the doctor while his patients are being checked. I see no need for your mother to be there.
But what can you say? You'll always be her little girl no matter how old you get.
I imagine that there may be some small concern that the doctor behaves... but I think mostly a parent wants to be able to hear what the doctor says. she is your mother after all and even though you're 18 she still sees you as her little girl.
she may have some concerns. I don't know maybe perverted concerns? just guessing. or maybe she thinks you're hiding something from her during the checkup. lol.
