Why do we get colds over and over and over again?

aren't our immune systems supposed to recognize certain viruses if they've fought them before? shouldn't they squish them before they make us sick? i hate being sick!!

I think the last time I got a cold was almost 2 years ago, and I think it was because I was pregnant and my immune system was weak due to the fact that all of my resources were going to my growing baby. Before that; it had been at least 5 years. So, not all of us get colds over and over..

Well, im not overly cautious about germs. I dont use hand sanitizer, clean shopping carts with the wipe things, wash my hands all the time, stay away from sick people, etc.
I also eat a lot of garlic, raw honey, and unprocessed foods.
It may seem gross to some, but in order to have a strong immune system, we need to expose ourselves to germs and bacteria. Also my mom breastfed me for an extended ammount of time, and I know that helps, but its out of my control really.

Tthe virus of a "cold" have a ton of variables an combinations.
