well, eating generally helps producing new skin cells and renewing it and stuff its not about gaining weight just eat healthy (vitamins, salad, fruits/vegtables... etc) also excersice because that opens up your pores and cleans the skin from inside out... so those two will make you buff, healthier and give you better skin
and i personally LOVE skin flaws on a man (scars, crocked nose... etc) and i know many girls love scars lol I don't know why it just feels manly and... rough? I don't know lol i just really like it, makes the guy seem more human/real too... I don't know lol
also fasting (the islamic way) detoxes your body and helps renew the skin (add that to healthy food and exercise it should speed it up)
but (and i dont reccomend this) if its really making you depressed or giving you anxeity.. etc you can have plastic surgery and fix that part of your skin (like how people fix burns.. etc) especially that you said that its deep
p. s: i have scars ALL OVER (chest, arms/shoulders, legs, face and back a little bit) i had compulsive skin picking for a while (its a form of OCD) but im still suffering the consequences :( i cannot stand the sight of my skin and i felt trapped in it for a while, went to Drs and everything too and the visits were horrible because not only did I have to look at my skin but other people were too
but yea i think im getting used to it... its fading a lot too
i still hate my chest area though... it makes me feel bad because when i think of love/marriage or w/e i remember that my skin is deformed and no one would want to look or touch that no matter what my figure looks like.
but yea like i said im getting more used to it and its fading, i was seriously depressed for a while because of it and used to compare my skin to EVERYONE elses (yes even guys) i kinda still do but its less than before
so yea i dont recommend surgery, but just do your best with natural remedies and medical skin creams and all that

Derma roller. a bit expensive but effective if used consistently for few months.
Scars can add to a persons appeal to me.
Why don't you have a chemical peel done?
