Does the food you make actually have a big impact on your health in the short and long term?

At the beginning of this school year and maybe 1 month before, I thought I had diabetes because I had a really low tolerance for high sugar foods like bananas. Every time I ate a banana I would feel like my blood sugar was out of balance and like I wanted to throw up and couldn't keep emotional composure. Now 4-6 months later, I can eat 6 bananas in a day without having any blood sugar issues. Not even a little bit. I don't like the taste of bananas but they are on the verge of going rotten and there is no food in the house because we recently came back from vacation and my parents did not have time to go grocery shopping. That is why I ate 6 bananas in one day.

For the last 4 months I have been eating a lot of butter chicken, chicken salad, sushi with real fish and shrimp, and chicken birayani. I guess this must have been healthy for my body because I have overcome a lot of health problems this year that I had several months ago. 3 to be exact.
