Girls, at what age did you get your period?

I got mine at age 10. I didn't even understand what was going on. When did you girls get yours? How did you feel?

I got mine when I was 12... it was my first time, I don't wanna get up and walk because I feel there's something blocking in there in which I am not used to and I am also scared the blood may flow through like a flowing water in faucet.. I don't have appetite to eat, I was thinking I will get too thin and finally die if the blood won't stop flowing.. lol It was more of frightening moment.. :p I haven't had an embarrassing moment yet so far...

i was 12, a few weeks before my 13th b-day i had it but i had no idea what was happening and was terrified, i just saw blood flowing from my leg, this was in school and i had to excuse myself to the clinic, since i had fear of blood i was freaking out until the resident doctor and my mom told me what was happening :\

Got mine at 9. I was freaked with all the blood on my underwear.
My friends and big sister convinced that it was because I was wiping too hard.
Didn't realize I had it until 5th grade (10) and it was during "The movie".

A girl can start her period anytime between the ages of 8 and 15. Most of the time, the first period starts about 2 years after breasts first start to develop. If a girl has not had her first period by age 15, or if it has been more than 2 to 3 years since breast growth started, she should see a doctor.

I was 12 when it started. It happened during the summer and I was expecting it because my mom kept telling me it was going to start soon. My sister started hers at 12 (she's older) and so did my mom. So she told me what to look for so I wouldn't be surprised.

My embarrassing moment was in grade 8. I was 13. When I was younger I had really heavy periods and really bad cramps. One day in class I leaked all over my chair during a test. It was so embarrassing. I didn't want to get up either because I knew it was going to be all over my chair. So I just sat in my chair until everyone left. I scrubbed my chair as soon as they all left.

I don't miss those days. I don't get cramps as much now and my period is very light. When I was younger it lasted seven days and was so heavy and I was dizzy and sick all the time. Now it lasts three days and it's light.

Oh man I remember the day very well. I was 13, it was October 29 at 4:31pm. We were supposed to have a  Halloween  block party and I was so pissed and uncomfortable. Like I couldn't even deal :( I just stayed inside and watched  Halloween  movies. lol

I was a late bloomer all around. I was fifteen when I got my period, and I sometimes joke that I'm still waiting to grow boobs (I'm 26). I remember really wanting to get my period, oddly enough, because I always felt like I couldn't wait to grow up, and obviously, that's a sign of womanhood. Once I got it, I remember feeling relieved, of all things. At that point, I didn't think I'd ever get it. :)

I go mine when I was 12. My cousin got hers when she was about 10/11. I got boobs and all before her but I thought I had something wrong with me because I didn't start my period. When I got it eventually I felt like a woman but not long after hated it because of cramping and stuff.

I was 11. I have never had an embrassing moment but the at school I felt so bad. I thought that I was going to throw up do I kept drinking water. I had really bad cramps so I tried going to the nurse but she was helping the special needs kids. So I had to wait then I still didn't get to go home.

I feel bad for all the girls that got it so early :( I was 13.
I was on the phone with a friend and went pee. Saw brownish reddish shit and was like "um can period blood be brown? " and my friend said yes and I screamed and then called my mom and cried because I didn't want to do the whole period thing :(
I remember I watched one of the Shrek movies that night lol

I was 11. It was July 27 in the afternoon and I was it home. I knew what it was and when I noticed it, I went to the cupboard (my mom had bought pads already) and put it on after cleaning my underwear. My embarrassing moment didn't happen till this year ( I'm a senior in hs) my flow was pretty heavy that day and I bled through my pad w/o realizing it. Blood was all over the back of my pants.

I got mine when I was 10 or 11 and I totally knew what was going on. My cramps weren't bad then so I just made a pad out of toilet paper and carried on my day

I was fourteen, just over a year ago. I always thought there was more to puberty so I asked mom and she told me about periods. My first time I got it was when I was asleep, woke up havig to go to the washroom and I am lucly I did before I exploded.
