I also swapped soda, orange juice, tea, coffee, and lemonade with water. Water is delicious!!
For exercise, I do tons of walking... Everyday for 30 minutes to an hour.
Is there anything else I should do? Feel free to critique me :)
As you continue to walk for 30 minutes a day, it will start to get easier for you and therefore not burn as much calories as it did before. After a while, maybe a couple weeks, start speed walking for that time and then later on move onto jogging, and then running.
Also drink a LOT of water, at least half your body weight in ounces. Drinking water will help prevent you from overeating and it will greatly help you with portion control. It also helps speed up your metabolism, which is what allows a person to burn calories at a certain speed (the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories). Do NOT starve yourself. Don't eat big meals, but do not skip meals. Instead of 3-4 large meals, try eating 6 half sized meals.
During high school I had dropped from 240 lbs to less than 170 in the first year alone. I worked my ass off while on my school's wrestling team, I would work out 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. But I did not do it in a healthy way. I only ate about 1000 calories a day (My doctor later on told me that with the amount of exercise I was doing, I should have been eating at least 3000 calories), and I rarely drank water because I had the wrong idea of "If I eat and drink as little as possible, I'll lose weight even faster." I definitely did lose weight very quickly, but it came with it's drawbacks. My hair thinned out, my nails became brittle, I was constantly tired, and I was more prone to illness. There's a reason why many nutritionists & personal trainers tell you that your diet is just as, if not more, important than the workouts.
I hope I have been of help to you :)
I can see that you're really counting calories. Don't focus solely on that... It's really just about nutrition and taking in what your body needs. 1200 Cal is good for an inactive person.
I suggest doing the Insanity Workout. With the diet that you're own you should see FAST results. Keep up the good work... If you can't get Insanity then to high-intensity workouts. You'll see faster results and you'll feel a lot better. Try sprinting 50 feet then rest for 3 minutes, repeat 4 times. You'll probably feel like you're going to barf but that's good, that's how you know it's working.
Just dont go overboard. I started like you and it went too far and losing weight turned into an obsession.
Remember that being slightly overweight is not DANGEROUS. It's okay. Just try to live healthy but its okay to eat junk food and candy sometimes.
Be with friends, enjoy hobbies etc. Weight loss should not become the most important thing of your life.
Up the exercise :) Running would be really good for cardio! And weight training is 100% the best way to lost weight too.
Awesome, thanks!!

You can raise your stamina and burn more calories, but you will wear out your knees faster. A lot of runners end up getting knee surgery prematurely in life. That's why I said of you aren't limited by time, walk. You can burn the same amount of calories, it will just take longer.
I've had knee problems from running like you said. After it healed I started running on a softer 'floor' like grass or a boardwalk and I'm perfectly fine.
I think it has to do more with the sneakers you're wearing and what you're running on. But I may very well be wrong.

It depends upon your goals -- if you're trying to be healthy, regular, vigorous exercise is by far the most important thing. Mortality rates for obese people who get regular exercise are actually lower than for thin, sendentary people, and on par with those of thin, active people.
Now, if you're talking about appearances, there are a few considerations. Weight is going to be decided by calories in vs. calories burned, period. BUT, if you're looking to gain/retain muscle, getting plenty of protein is important. And, of course, overall nutrition (in the form of vitamins/minerals) is essential.
In terms of food and health, think in terms of overall diet, not individual items.
Go to Wal-Mart or a health/organic food store and get Bolthouse Farms drinks.
I drink the following:

Very healthy.
I lost two pounds when I pooped today. It's not what you eat, it's how many calories you consume.
I eat at least 1,200 cal per day.
It is? My endocrinologist said that's good enough.
Oh OK :)
I think it's fine too.
I hope you feel good about your success. Keep your spirits high and much more success.
Thanks!! I feel good.
The key is to start small, like I'm doing :)
Lemon water is actually good as well it cleans your system out. Keep up the great effort.
Thank you!! That's encouraging.
Some people just have a hard time losing weight, my sister being one of them. Sometimes it just comes down to genetics and how your body processes the foods you eat. I think if you continue to eat healthy your weight shouldn't affect your overall health.
How much do you weigh and what is your height? If I were you, walking doesn't count. I'd do the step machine at a gym or straight up treadmill it.
Also, you might want to get rid of any fat you want before age 30. Losing fat after 30 is nigh impossible.
Make sure you are eating the right amount of calories to lose weight. Eating too much healthy food=more calories and leads to gaining weight. Fruits and veggies contain calories and sugar too. Do not over eat
drinking green tea with lemon it's healthy and boosts your metabolism :)
yeah don't overdo it.
