Why am I not even considered...

Now, I've always tried to be a nice guy and such, and I've had at least two girls like me over in the last three years but neither one worked out and senior year has begun, which means it's my last chance to have a high school sweetheart and go to the usual stuff like Homecoming and whatnot and I feel like I'm not even being considered by girls I know. I don't think they view me as someone they'd date or even be good friends with. I think they see me as some small guy who you just talk to when your bored or need someone. I'm not very muscular, and quite skinny, about medium height, so shorter then some of the more athletic guys but taller than a lot of girls, and I've been told I'm very funny and sweet and have a great personality, why am I not even being considered by girls? None of them like to talk to me much and when they do talk they usually end up talking to another guy more. Is there something so repugnant about me that I'm eliminated from consideration right off the bat?

I'm in the same position, but on the other side. I used to get asked out all the time and guys would tell me I'm pretty all the time, and now that it's my senior year I never get hit on anymore. What, did I all of a sudden become ugly? I haven't changed at all, Infact, I look even better. I think it's because people are intimidated by seniors, or that they think that a seniors going away and they won't have someone to hang out with in high school and they won't be around enough because of college,so what's the point? I really wish I could get a high school sweetheart to but good luck finding one in a school like mine where most of the students are girls, ugh. Anyways, I actually prefer skinny guys, so, don't think that because you're skinny you're unattractive because everyone has different tastes. Hope this helps you because in a way, it helps me to. The majority of high school girls are shallow. End of story. Same with high school guys. My advice? Stop focusing on finding a relationship and start having fun in your last year of high school. I was in the same boat last year (I graduated in June, though!) and I actually ended up going to prom alone. And you know what? I loved it! Things happen to you when you least expect them to so just enjoy life as it is now; take it as it comes each day and when you least expect it the right person will come along. Definitely easier said than done, but focusing on something else (like achieving and/or maintaining good grades) will help.

I try to maintain that mentality and I'm not like actively looking at every girl I see as a potential date, I just want to experience this stuff because this is the last time I'll be able to and I feel like if I don't I won't have the skills to in the future. I know what you mean by when you least expect it last time I stopped caring a girl starting liking me then I wanted her to like me so I started caring and for some reason it fell apart now it's like I'm screwed whether I wait or not.

I've been in your shoes man. It sucks. I never found a high school sweetheart man. I'm in college I'm 20 and I've still never had a girlfriend. So it's obvious to say I'm a big virgin, I have had one date, and it was this past summer, and I failed so hard.

Probably not. But are you putting yourself out there instead of waiting for girls to come to you?

Well I'm shy so I don't usually walk up to them I usually join a convo or start one by commenting on someone they've said, they rarely ever come to talk to me they usually are talking to each other or another guy, and when I do talk to them it usually doesn't last long. I just feel like their not even giving me a chance, you know?
