I somehow get bruises a lot; often without realising it. Here are a few ways of helping your black eye heal faster:
- Obviously, the first thing you use is an ice pack. This numbs the pain and reduces blood circulation, minimising bruising (as bruising is caused by ruptured blood vessels). However, a day or two later, once the bruise appears, you should use a warm compress rather than a cold one. This increases blood circulation in the area, helping the blood vessels to decongest and heal faster. Just soak cotton wool or a clean facecloth in comfortably warm water and apply to the bruising. Hold until the compress cools down. Repeat for ten minutes or so.
- Witch hazel solution. A few drops of witch hazel in a half a cup of water, then apply on the bruising with cotton wool. Hold in place for about five or ten minutes.
- Calamine lotion. You can get it anywhere, and I remember using it for chickenpox when I was five. It soothes the bruise when applied with a cotton swab, but avoid getting it in your eyes.
- Arnica. It’s some sort of herb that’s used in salves that apparently really help bruising. I’ve never tried it, but my karate coach swears by it.
Good luck. Hope it gets better soon.

I'm sorry you got off on the Wrong foot for the new year, sweetie, hope you will feel better soon.
Put some Ice on the swollen areas. This will help the swelling go down. As far as the black, as time passes, will turn into yellow, which means it is healing, put some make up on it and wear a pair of sunglasses when you go out.
Good luck and Happy New Year, dear. xxoo
Three things I can immediately think of.
1. hold an Ice bag/something cold to your eye.
2. massage the affected area (can be done with fingers)
3. (probably the least funny way) use a needely/something
to puncture your skin carefully, to make it bleed lightly.
The third one is the fastest, but not really
fun to do, at all. ^.~
1st and 2nd can be combined.

just ice... keep it iced.
Yikes. All you can do is apply ice.
Just rest and keep an ice bag on it
