Why is pizza in round shape, but it's put in square boxes and it's cut in triangle pieces?
media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/.../best-pizza-ever.jpg
Squared: Other than thats the original pizza shape, it was easier to cut it into rectangular pieces , starting from the middle cut, they guve the illusion you are actually eating more than If a squared piece.
Box: thats the stabdard cut for cardboard/ boxes all over the world because they save up money and by doing round boxes the conpanies would actually have to charge more bc they would be discharging more waste. Besides... they are not functional if round, just think about it...
And now Im actually calling in for a pizza bc ur question gave me heavy cravings...
Hope I heped... from a business perspective xx enjoy your pizza :)
haha, enjoy your pizza too
It's round because though is most quickly and easily spread when spread in a circle. You start from a bowl of dough and distributing it in even amounts towards all sides is the fastest and easiest way to flatten it. That gives you a circular surface.
the boxes are square because they are most easily stacked on a stable, neat stack when square. For the same reason fruit like watermelon is being bread in a square shape for decorational and storage reasons, while it's naturally round.
It's cut into triangles because that's the fastest way to evenly divide the pizza in order to make sharing it and distributing portions easier.

and now you gain the meta understanding that the things are more often pieced together than created for each other.
Thanks for taking time to make the drawing :)

In seriousness, my guess is that pizza naturally take a round shape through the dough tossing/rolling process unless deliberately shaped otherwise. The nature of the pizza requires a structurally sound container, and boxes are generally four-sided. Plus pizza boxes come unfolded, so it's probably easier to store.
Counter question: why do hot dogs come in packs of 8 but the buns only come in packs of 6?

well this is one of the most epic GIF's I've seen in my life
The standard way to prepare the crust is the hand tossed method in which the chef flattens the dough by spinning the dough using inertia to spread the dough evenly. Triangle slices are the easiest way to split a circle into even portions. The square box is the easiest and cheapest way to create a cardboard box, since trying to make a flat piece of cardboard into a circular box would require several cuts and waste a lot of material. Basicly the whole concept is about using the least amount of labor to increase profits

It's science and efficiency. Today, pizza is made quickly to serve as many people as possible. When the dough is tossed, centripetal forces cause it to "expand" outward and look circular. This creates the thin dough that can be cooked quickly and rise. It also creates the base for which the sauces and toppings can be put on. Inside the oven, if placed correctly, it offers the best to cook the toppings and sauces whilst allowing the dough to rise. Using a knife to cut across the pie allows only 3-4 cuts to create 6-8 slices for people. The whole process can take 5 minutes to prepare and cut. The cooking is another 10-15 minutes.
If you want to ask why every variation of pizza is made, talk to chef's why they put eggs on stuff and serve other crazy things.
The original pizzas whereby round they were in like a rectangle ovally shape and were cut into rectangle. They're round now because that's what we're used to, the boxes are square because that's an easy shape to form cardboard Into. But I'm not sure why we do triangle slices
it's a mystery!
there are squared pizzas as well

yes, but the majority are round shaped pizzas
That's just ugly though.
@BelleGirl21 don't say that in Rome or you'll have trouble :P
Uh oh 😯
Because pizza is the most mystical, amazing and god-like thing that ever existed on earth. We must worship it's powers and never doubt it, for if we do, we will have to get down on our knees and beg its holy-nesse for forgivness.
lol, you seem to like it a lot
of course I do
This question suits your avatar.
Anyway, I think this question should remain unanswered, otherwise the world will be destroyed.
Or at least, that's what I heard.
Maybe a WW3 would be caused
A ducking neighbor is drunk and has loud music on, so sleeping is not a solution
hahaha, I really don't wanna do this at 03:04
Imma go with my best guess the square is to support all of the pizza so it stays in its form will in the box and doesn't slide around its cut into triangles because obviously you can't cut it into squares because of the circular form along with radius and diameter so it would only make sense to cut it in triangles so you can have it all
Hmm which makes me think "why are wrestlers boxing in a ring when it's a square?"
hahahaha, good answer
Hehe thanks 😁
boxing rings weren't always square. Greek , Roman and eve Sheakespeare theaters the Globe) were round or rounded.

It's not math. People just did this as a design.
Please don't try to add math into something I love :'(
maths are everywhere
Hahahahaha kind of the coolest question so far... ^-^
thank you :)
I don't know but don't let society's standards hold you back. I cut my pizza into hexagon shapes and then I write my name in mustard on each piece.
good idea
So we can just eat a pizza instead of going to maths class :D
More real answer:
The pizza is probably round and the box is probably square, so you can easily take it out. Triangle pieces because its the easiest way to slice a round object
that's right
Yay i solved the pizza mystery, you see, im too good for maths haha
Next time your maths teacher tells you, you're not good enough, tell him about this question
Haha i got 89 out of 100 average, so he knows im good at it ;)
yeah, that seems a good score
All because of the high amount of pizza I've eaten in my life haha ;)
Round pizza is in square box so that pieces are easy to pick up--there's room for you to pick up a pieces because of the extra space a square creates. And pizza slices are triangle because that's the easiest way to divide up a circle.
Round: because they throw the dough to even it, it'll naturally take on a round shape.
Square: easiest shape to make boxes in.
Triangles: ever seen a pie? or a pie chart? easiest way to accurately divide a circle.
This is too funny!! I've never thought about this before.
you have something to think over the weekend now!
It's easier to make the dough round, much like cookies. Boxes that would then be circle would have to be cut that way, since cardboard is not manufactured round in 3D shapes. Pizza is cut into triangles for easy grip and eating.
because it is easier to make square boxes. And don't forget that there are square shaped pizzas as well.
yes, but it's more common to have round shaped ones
Ikr! I was asking the same question a few days ago lol
yay, I asked it first!
hahah yeah
Well, pizza isn't always round, you can get rectangle ones.
As for the boxes, its far easier to flat pack and manufacture a square box.
As for the cutting in triangles, its probably the easiest way to cut a pizza of circular size to share :)
yes but why not having square boxes?
I'm tired of making myself when there are lots of already made :)
Pizza is thousands of years old, before the invention of cardboard (& boxes)
The oldest traces of 'pizza were found in Babylon and Egypt: an 'oven bread' or pie garnished with vegetables on it. Probably meat or fish if any was available. It migrated to the West over centuries, keeping it old pie shape for a long time.
In 20th century Rome many pizzas are made rectangular in central bakeries and sold to shops, cut in rectangular parts.

edit: *its old pie shape
I know, I've been to Rome and pizzas there were square
maybe cause its easier to cut a circle pizza in a square box... cause if it was a circle box it might be a tad harder... I don't know hahah good question :")
