Is this a form of psychosis?

I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 years ago.

I have dreams and when I awake and remember the dream I'm convinced the things in my dream have happened..

E. g. Events or meeting people that happen my dream sometimes I feel like they really have happened or when I meet one of my friends I have a memory that I tell them about and there like wtf are you on about?

Is this a form of psychosis?

I stopped taking my medication, because it just zombiefys you and I'd rather have my amazing highs and stuff even tho I can get abit careless and not 'normal' ... I need to to see my gp again to talk about cbt cause even tho I feel fine and stuff my friends and family are worried about me..

Is there any GaGers who have bipolar or cyclothymia who I can talk to?

My mom used to do that. She'd dream something like assassins were coming to get us or whatever then wake up and think it was real and tell us we had to leave and go to my grammas and yeahhh.

I'd just learned not to rationalize her. I learned trying to fight the fear validates it's existemce in a way? So I'd just try to distract her like be like oh since we're all up lets do a pajama ride or something or if I could convince her to stay home we'd watch a funny movie and help her get centered again.

I know it's not easy to deal with. Risperdal and Ativan helped her out a lot. You may wanna look into that!

Wow! That sounds pretty intense for a daughter to experience...
I just wanna get a grip cause if I have kids I wouldn't want them dealing with me like that...
I get called selfish when I actually feel selfless.
and Differentiating between reality and dreams is quite hard because of how lucid my dreams get... So like I'll think I've had these BBQ or been on holiday or sailed an ocean with a friend or parachuted or sometimes rob a bank with friends and I'll believe myself and when I go to talk to them about these events there like wtf and then reasure me ... Even after they say I'm not making sense I still believe myself. for me my dreams are realistic and believable then they must have happened. But they haven't and it's like hmmm? I might try talking to my gp about other drugs... But the drug I was put on was horrible and I was becoming not myself so I stopped taking them. Maby I need to try cbt or other drugs

And nah I'm happy to go not annymous now I had a proper think and what does it matter what people think of me in that way cause it's who I am at the end of the day and there's no point hiding it from other people.

I don't think my mom was selfish. It wasn't her fault, it was never even a problem when she was 40. A lot fell on me when I was 17 cuz my dad lived in another state and that was unfair but no ones fault!

Being bipolar doesn't have to change your life. You can still have kids and be a good dad. And I know what you mean... you come off as selfish but really in your mind you're doing what's best for everyone... my m thought she was facing off assassins! She didn't realize.

And I get you about the drugs. They've had my mom on eeeverything. Xanax depakote ridperdal celexa you name it! She hates all of them so she only takes celexa. She... seems to cope but I also know she's a good actress and I worry about her being off her meds... but my dads back so there's that.

I think a lot is mindfulness tho. You may try meditating and learning how to be mindful in your thinking... let yourself trust the people around you too. I know they can feel suffocating and just aggravate shit more:(

Cool ur dads bk! And yeah that's why my family are so worried about me now cause I'm off Meds. my step dad said to me he dosent think I'll make it to 30 yesterday cause of just the way I am. This scares me cause I understand exactly what he means when he says this but I need to do CBT or something like that.
I feel like I'm in a meditated mind set atm and feel like I'm there with everything and connected... I just need to take action which these thoughts instead of just keeping them to myself.

Honest to god I feel like I'm on a natural dose of mdma (ecstasy). Daily like physically and mentally.

It scares me because I feel the exact way about myself sometimes lol. Always getting those natural highs and acting crazy and feeling like I have a war in my mind but also oddly euphoric and yeahh. I remind myself of my mom when she was young sometimes which is scary

I really like that poem. You know bipolar people are known for being talented and creative. A lot of the worlds greatest artists and writers have been bipolar

I know it's known to be hereditary. I hope for the best for you and when I. Was around 21 22 that's when I felt like seeing someone about it and I found out, it's explained it all to me!. I know this :) I'm a very creative person.

Not bi-polar but I was diagnosed with schizophrenia. The drugs they give you for the symptoms are similar: anti-psychotic medications. I also stopped taking the anti-psychotics and I feel more alert. I do have crazy dreams sometimes, but I never mix them up with conscious reality, so I can't help you there.

Yeah man i was put on quetiapine - it's an anti psychotic aswel... It's so hard to interact with people the way u wanna when ur on them drugs. I deffinatly feel more alert not taking them. Anyways cheers for ur input. I need to do some cbt if you know what that is... So I can cope with being the way I am without perception drugs or recreational drugs.
