What do I do to help?

i have got a depressed classmate that self harms..
no one knows except for me and one other girl... for some reason she has only chosen us to tell.
what is kind of queer about what happens is that she shows ME the cuts daily (they are not deep though but i have a feeling they will be soon since they are getting deeper daily)...
during classes she sends me notes writing about herself and how she hates herself and about her "SELF DISGUST"... just today she sent me 3 notes two were mini-essays and one was a VERY long list of adjectives about her like : uneeded, unwanted, disgusting, fugly, fat, ghost, worthless, twat, wanker, LOST, pouf, asshole, SUICIDAL, wierdo, NOT REAL, where? no where, need to disappear from everyone and many more. some of these really worried me.. them afterwards during business class she broke down crying and sobbing.. the class was confused but the girl and i just felt more guilty since we are the only ones that know and are supposed to help.
we tried talking to her although she is in a state of DENIAL she REFUSES help although she hints to us that she needs it, i mean the notes she sends ME during classes are enough so are the messages i get when at home after school hours.
we asked the school councilor to call her a week ago and she did the girl seemed "convinced" that she needs a therapist back then, although after her "session" a lot has happened and she is back to square one ! and the councilor did not really do her good!
so what do we do to help?

It takes more than 1 counselling session to stop self harm. I am working with women for months at a time while they are locked away on an acute female ward self harming, slowly reducing self harm, but you have to tackle very deep rooted emotional stressors and triggers. Sometimes self harmers dont even know their own triggers.

Ask one why they just tried to hang themselves and they'll say 'The urge built up'. Self harm is an addiction. Do it for long enough and they have no response to stressful situations or emotional losses except self harming. It becomes a way of life. It is beyond the capability of a school counsellor to crack this. You need to approach trained Mental Healt Professionals who will do full assessment.
